Every surface tells a story.

The aged board-and-batten siding bears visible nail holes and raised grain from decades of imagined exposure to Iowa wind, rain, and snow. The old rusty tin roof over the side shed sags slightly with time, while softened edges and worn textures suggest years of hard use.

Nothing is over-restored.

Nothing feels new.

Because the truth of old barns lives in their imperfections.

A Scene Frozen in Rural Time

Beneath the attached side shed rests a well-used and heavily weathered Model T truck — faded by years of farm duty and left exactly where the day’s work ended.

Inside the barn:

• an old horse-drawn plow waits quietly in storage
• hay still fills the loft above
• vintage metal advertising signs cling to worn interior walls
• a wooden wheelbarrow leans beside the entrance
• a hand saw hangs near a cluttered workbench scattered with old tools

These details are intentionally subtle — discovered slowly, the way one notices objects inside a real barn.

The sculpture invites viewers not just to observe it, but to wander through it visually.

The Cupola and the Pigeons

Above the roofline, an aged wooden cupola rises weathered and slightly worn by time.

Nearby, pigeons loft and gather as they have for generations in forgotten barns across the Midwest — small living reminders that even abandoned structures continue holding life.

It is a quiet detail, but one deeply rooted in authentic farm memory.
